A Happy Day for Roses

Today is my Arranger’s birthday. It is always a challenge to find the right remembrance for one who is content and wants little for herself. So I resorted to a traditional gift in her honor…her favorite roses. Alas, I have given up on long stem roses in my garden, so I had to find them in a local flower stall. Fortunately, they had just the right ones…her favorite yellow roses.

Please join me in wishing this wonderful wife of mine a most Happy and Blessed Birthday. How could I get along without my wonderful Arranger for In a Vase on Monday?

Happy Birthday greetings to your arranger. Witherspoon’s owner spoke at our garden club meeting this morning. He brought such a fabulous arrangement of his favorite long stemmed roses I found myself planning a rose garden, until he started describing how to care for them.

Thanks, Susie. We became friends with David when we used Witherspoons to support our roses when we were in Chapel Hill and have seen him, once speaking at our Garden Club here and annually when he has a booth at the garden show. I decided to get Witherspoons to “do the roses” for a year in Chapel Hill and then take over. When the guy came out with a space suit, I knew I would never take that one on. We were pleased with the results over the eight years or so they came to our garden.
