I have been most kindly invited by the folks at Forest Garden to participate in their Black and White Photo Challenge. I looked back through our family photo albums; the last B&W photos I took were in the mid 70’s. Forty years is a considerable gap. Nonetheless, I appreciate the kind remarks of the nice folks at Forest Garden and am willing to try. Here is my first offering.

The wall was part of a garden display at the Charlotte Spring Home and Garden Show in March. I was taken by the quality of the stone work, the relief, and the shadows.

John Viccellio retired after 24 years in the U. S. Navy and began to dig into gardening when he could finally land in one place. He completed the Master Gardener course in 1992 and has since designed and constructed two of his own gardens. He wrote a monthly garden column for ten years and was a regular contributor to Carolina Gardener magazine. John published his first book, Guess What's in My Garden!, in 2014.
He lives in Stallings, NC with his wife, in close proximity to six of his eight grandchildren.
Thank you for joining in, John. I hope you will have fun with it 😉 I love the texture in the wall and the wonderful perspective. Best wishes, WG

Thanks for the invitation. I’m not sure if I will be able to do five in a row, but will respond as the material presents itself. I will do four more to meet your expectations!

No pressure John… I this is entirely voluntary the fun of it is its own reward 😉 I think 5 is an arbitrary number- but allows for a little experimentation and refinement. I learn by doing, and learned bits and pieces along the way of doing these. My husband still grimaces when he sees me editing black and white pics- his clear strong preference is for color 😉
