Weekly Photo Challenge: Motion

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge theme is MOTION. I was able to capture a green anole (Anolis carolinensis) scuttling across a hosta leaf.

My garden is a home to a number of these creatures who are welcome assistants in my continuing battle with certain predaceous insects. Most anoles are greener than this one. We have several similar small lizards that are in residence here as well: the ground skink (Scinella lateralis) and the five-lined skink (Eumeces inexpectatus). They are harmless to plants and humans. Despite that pleasant situation, my wife still prefers that they remain outside.

  1. Great catch. Those things can move like the wind.

  3. Now this is perfect. A visual example of motion though nothing is moving. This photo gets the blue ribbon in the #Photo Challenge this week. No doubt about it.

Nice capture. I saw an anole this past week too. It’s taken a while but I’ve finally become used to them.
