In a Vase on Monday: Hibiscus

The two ‘Midnight Marvel’ hibiscus plants have come in nicely after our cold winter and are blooming well this summer. It seems only appropriate to display them in this week’s vase.

Hibiscus moscheutos “Midnight Marvel’

IMG_1866The blooms stay open for just a day, so this arrangement is not going to last in the house. Fortunately there are lots of buds, so we should be able to enjoy them…at least in the garden…for a number of weeks.

Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what she and others are bringing in from their gardens to share with us.

Again I must report that the miracle calla lilies are still going strong…FIVE weeks in a vase. A few of them have faded, but there are five still in presentable condition. Will wonders never cease?

What a flower! Worth it to bring in even if it is just a day, I love the color and how it complements the foliage.
Congratulations and happy birthday as well! I wish you all the best for the upcoming year and many more.

the colour of the hibiscus is wonderful (they’re an indoor plant here in soggy Manchester) but it reminds me of Mediterranean holidays – and looks great with the vase too 🙂
