In a Vase on Monday: Really in a Teapot

Here it is Monday again, so it’s time for In a Vase on Monday, sponsored by Cathy at Rambling in the Garden. Our Encore azaleas are starting to come into bloom, and My Arranger suggested we make that the centerpiece of this week’s offering. ‘White Swan’ coneflowers (Echinacea pupurea), dwarf French marigolds (Tagetes patula),  the foliage and new blooms of variegated liriope (Liriope muscari), and foliage of Cleyera japonica (Ternstroemia gymnathera) complete the arrangement.

The simple white teapot has been in the family for several generations.

Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what she and others have selected from the flowers in their gardens and shared with us in their vases this week.

Nice. My favorite is the addition of the azalea blooms, they’re so saturated with color it’s like the flower off some tropical plant.

  8. What a simply lovely arrangement. I love how you’ve worked with scale to make your Azaleas seem as large as lilies. The liriope works so well to bridge the Azaleas with the marigolds. I agree with you that it is a very special and vibrant shade of pink in your Azaleas. Your Arranger never disappoints ❤

The Azaleas are such an intense color, and the marigolds and Liriope complement them with more bright colors. The white teapot is the perfect counterpoint.

The angular shape of the teapot is perfect for these flowers which looks very bright and fresh, belying the fact that we are approaching autumn.
