It’s Monday and again it is now a time to collect something from the garden and display it in a vase to brighten our home. This week we offer a simple grouping of pink Knockout roses. What could be sweeter than a few lovely roses in an heirloom silver bud vase?

The vase has been handed down across generations in my Arranger’s family.
We give thanks to Cathy at Rambling in the Garden for hosting this meme. Please visit her to see what she and others are gathering from the gardens this week.

Are they really called ‘Knockout’? What a good name for a lovely rose and what a stylish arrangement the arranger has used them in, the rose on the table making a nice touch too. Thanks for sharing

There is a series of roses with the name “Knockout.” They are shrub roses…pinks, reds, yellow and white. They say you don’t need to deadhead them, but I do (guess you would say I like them tidy). I prune them in late winter just as I would a hybrid tea. They are widely planted here…even alongside roads and highways…and they seem to thrive on neglect.

That rose and its beautiful foliage are just perfect without anything getting in the way. I get that calm feeling, without being dull.

The only thing I can think of sweeter than this arrangement is the arranger.

Lovely silver vase, simply elegant! It harkens back to a more genteel time when folks took time to appreciate quiet beauty.
