Hooray, ’tis Monday and time for our weekly vase offering. After tons of rain and cooler weather, my grass is growing like topsy. The azaleas are starting to bloom, a few iris are budding, camellias are loaded with buds just waiting to delight us, while the roses are beginning to slow down. We do, however, have a few things bringing color to the garden, and we are happy to share.
The flowers include Dahlia ‘Zirconia,’ a pink Knockout rose, muhly grass, and Encore azalea ‘Autumn Twist.’ Both the light and darker colored azaleas are from the same cultivar, a unique characteristic of ‘Autumn Twist.’ The foliage is from ‘Green Giant’ arborvitae.
The vase was a wedding gift to my Arranger and me, lo those many years ago.
Let me invite you to visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden. See what she and others are sharing with us from their gardens this week.
Oh I do love that dahlia John – I am going to look out for some other ‘single’ flowered ones for next year. And I am left wondering if we get autumn flowering azaleas in the UK as I don’t think I have come across any. All your blooms look lovely together and thank you both for sharing

It’s a beautiful combination, John, from the flowers to the grass to the vase. I can’t believe you have azaleas blooming already!

Oh the pink of that azalea – and I love the muhly grass – a new one for me – I wonder if we can grow it here – I will have to look into it. Gorgeous as usual!

The muhly grass is one of our favorites. A bit of a challenge in an arrangement because the flowers are so fine. This was the first time we have tried it.
