Today, of course, is Monday and time for a vase offering of what is flowering around our house. We had a good hard frost last night and most of the blossoms in the garden were damaged. My Arranger suggested that we present her favorite African violet as a stand in for those that are suffering outside.
Once again, my thanks go to Cathy at Rambling in the Garden, the host of this weekly display of flowers in a vase. Please visit her site and see what she and others are including in their vases this week.
Beautiful….I do not grow these but my mother did and had a wonderful collection!

Beautiful substitute, John! It’s a pity that African violets aren’t commonly offered for sale these days, they used to be quite popular. Now they are hard to find.

Thanks, Eliza. We see African violets on sale at Home Depot all the time.

This is a wonderful display of African violets, John, so elegant, and dare I say unusual, as I have never seen any displayed so gorgeously together in a trough like this. My own three are currently in individual pots and looking most unloved, ungainly and untidy, but you have really inspired me to make the effort to create a proper display of them — thank you!

Thank you, Joanna. A bit of light and an occasional bit of fertilizer and they are doing well for us.

I love this colour, whatever sort of blooms they are – so thanks for sharing these today, John.

I love African violets and must try growing one again. Frosty here too, but my flowers have all gone now anyway!

That looks like a very happy bunch of African violets. I remember my mother was very fond of them.
