Today is Monday; they said it would rain…and it is, so I jumped ahead yesterday to grab what few flowers are available from my garden to include In a Vase on Monday. Because all of these are rather small, it seemed appropriate to float them in a shallow dish.
The only blossoms available for this week’s vase are a few surviving camellias from ‘Our Linda’ and ‘Debutante.’ I filled in around them with undamaged Encore azaleas, violas, and the purple calibrachoa.
The “vase” is a shallow Waterford crystal condiment dish.
Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what she and others who are following here meme will be offering for us to enjoy this week.
What a delightful late season collection of flowers…

Thanks, Noelle. I didn’t have much from which to choose this time, but I was pleased with the color combos.

Lovely dish, John! I also enjoyed your nice contribution to the ‘Transition’ photo challenge. How heart-warming to see so many family around to ‘transition’ your traditions further into the 21st century …

My grandmother used to float her Camellias like that, thanks for inspiring a good memory.

I always love floating flowers – particularly when the collection includes camellias!

I hope to continue to have a few camellias still. The trick is to get them to come into bloom between frosts…something, of course, that I cannot control.

What a warm and lovely combination of colors, John! You have quite a lot still in bloom it seems. Aren’t the Camellias just the most wonderful gift this time of year? What an interesting dish for floating flowers. I love what you and your arranger have done here ❤ ❤ ❤

Thanks, WG. I am really scraping the barrel to find flowers to include in the weekly vase, so you may see some of the same items over the winter.

Absolutely adore the photo of the floating flowers – could be the cover of a card or printed and framed – definite eye candy the moment I spotted it! Cathy T
