January: Winter Gardens

I have accepted an invitation from HeyJude to participate in the Garden Photography Challenge for January. The theme of the month is “Winter Gardens.” How very appropriate!

Snow and ice are rare in these parts…but on occasion they can add a note of beauty to the winter garden.

John Viccellio retired after 24 years in the U. S. Navy and began to dig into gardening when he could finally land in one place. He completed the Master Gardener course in 1992 and has since designed and constructed two of his own gardens.     After last weekend’s snow, it’s hard to believe we are going to have a taste of spring today. I’m up for it, though!

    I like that red Japanese maple. I shot one for my tree photography project. I’ll get around to posting it one of these days.
