Well, it’s Monday morning, cold and dreary, and my Carolina Panthers football team lost the Super Bowl last night. Congratulations for a game well played by the Denver Broncos. Monday is also time for In a Vase on Monday, so it’s back to more important things. This week I am once again limited to pansies for my vase.
The blue and white item at left is a Japanese Obento–a Japanese ceramic version of a three tiered lunch box. The pansies are in a Waterford crystal vase on a silver tray given to my Arranger to mark her Christening. The Panther’s helmet is included…just for the memories.
Please visit Cathy, the host of In a Vase on Monday, at Rambling in the Garden to see what she and others are sharing from their gardens this week.
The Japanese Obento is beautiful, you and your arranger have many beautiful pieces of ceramics which mean that even with ‘only’ (your words not mine) pansies the whole arrangement is charming.

Thank you, Christina. My window off opportunity right now is very narrow, but I am grateful for the pansies and violas. If we can keep the ice from them, they hold up so well in our weather.

It was nice to see Peyton Manning go out on a high note. Sweet pansies.

Thanks for the note. You can be sure I would have liked to send him out in another way, but, alas, it is what it is:)

John, I know there is some bitchin foliage in your fabulous garden and Peyton Manning will be fine.

You are correct on both accounts. Thanks.

I’m sure your pansies were oblivious to the poor game results. They look quite happy in that gorgeous vase!

Thanks, Cathy. I’m (almost) over my disappointment. The pansies help.
