Today is our four year Leap Day and it’s on a Monday, so it is time for In a Vase on Monday, hosted by Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.
The larger vase spotlights unidentified hellebores, including the first yellow one to bloom this year. The supporting elements are candytuft (Iberis sempervirens), spring starflowers (Ipheion uniflorum) ‘Wisley Blue, a few purple pansies, and a Waterford heart to mark the day.
The smaller vase contains the first open bud from Camellia japonica ‘Governor Mouton,’ slightly frost damaged around the edges but a most welcome sight, with a few purple violas.
The spring starflower blooms are the first up this year. There are dozens more coming.
Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see her vase on the Leap Day.
Oh my! This is an absolutely stunning display of garden beauty.

I am looking forward to seeing all your different camellias in Monday vases, John – they are always so beautiful. I just love the plethora of petals. And your hellebores look so perky in that clear glass vase. Thanks for sharing

My choices in camellias will be limited, but the Gov. is full of buds and should be around awhile.

Thank you, Bec. I’m sorry I don’t know the names of the hellebores. I moved them from my previous garden and the names were lost in the move.

I’m glad you like them, Amy. They multiply like crazy, so they are easy to spread around.
