It’s Monday and time for the weekly vase. Cathy at Rambling in the Garden invites us each week to gather flowers from our gardens and bring them in to fill a vase inside.
The first Encore azaleas and the annual ranunculus provide the main color in the arrangement. The supporting players are hellebores, muscari, candytuft, and Carolina jessamin. The greenery is from Berckmann’s arborvitae. The rabbit plays off the blue vase.
I walked in with a load of flowers and presented them to my Arranger as a challenge. You can be sure that I am pleased with her response.
Please visit Cathy and see what she and others are sharing from their gardens this week.
Beautiful flowers and wonderful arrangement. Azaleas are just starting to show up here too. Happy time of year.

Thank you, Donna. The ranunculas I use as annuals; I just bought and potted them.

The blue vase looks super with those pink ranunculus and azaleas – you say these ranunculus are annuals? The Arranger has done a great job 🙂

I use the ranunculus as annuals. Sources say the bulbs can handle soil temps down to 10 degrees.

Oh that’s interesting John, as they seem to be very temperamental in the UK. I think I will just keep to growing them in pots in the greenhuse in future.

Very nice. Azaleas are one of those plants that really puts me in mind of the southeast part of the country.

Thanks, Jason. The azaleas are coming into bloom all over our area. They are so beautiful.

Lovely. Your gardens are far ahead of ours up north. I have snowdrops and crocus. I’d like to try Hellebores next year.

Thanks. Given the right conditions, hellebores are easy…just cut back in early spring and that’s all I have to do with them.

A lovely arrangement – especially the jessamine draped so elegantly over the edges.

Thank you, Cathy. The jessamin has really been prolific this year and it’s still going strong…a great plant, thought a bit unruly at times.

I also like the touch of the Carolina jasmine draping through. It’s a beautiful arrangement and the little bit of yellow falling off is perfect!
