Wordless Wednesday: Today, after the Rain

John Viccellio retired after 24 years in the U. S. Navy and began to dig into gardening when he could finally land in one place. He completed the Master Gardener course in 1992 and has since designed and constructed two of his own gardens. He wrote a monthly garden column for ten years and was a regular contributor to Carolina Gardener magazine. John published his first book, Guess What's in My Garden!, in 2014. He lives in Stallings, NC with his wife, in close proximity to six of his eight grandchildren.

    General Sikorski looks like a clematis to die for – but I like the arch that the pink Countess is growing on very much. Did you put the netting onto an arch that you bought? (Sorry to be boring – I’m a gardener!)

      Thanks, Cathy. I will cut back Sikorski after it blooms to about 3-4 feet. It has then rebloomed later in the summer…reliably over the years. The netting on the arch is vinyl covered galvanized fence wire cut to the right width. I just used black plumbers tape to attach it.
