In a Vase on Monday: More of the Same

Once again it’s time for In a Vase on Monday, hosted by Cathy at Rambling in the Garden. And, once again, we will feature a simple arrangement of our white hydrangea ‘Blushing Bride.’

It is certainly white now but with time will take on a pink caste (thus its name), at which time it may become a candidate for yet another vase on yet another Monday.

IMG_1011The vase is a treasured farewell gift given to my Arranger by her friends when we moved from Chapel Hill to be near the grandkids. It is a beautiful creation by Lundberg Studios in Davenport, CA, in 2004.

Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what beautiful flowers she is displaying from her garden this week and join others doing the same.

I for one don’t mind how many times you show them. A question, I have a white hydrangea that is in deep shade and the flowers have turned green, in your experience is this usual?

I can’t say that I’ve experienced that one, but I only have one oak leaf hydrangea in deep shade. I don’t have those deep shade conditions with the rest. I do see some green on the macrophyllas, but that’s when they are just opening. I’ll let you know when my “Little Lime’ blooms.

Lovely to see your hydrangeas in all their different shades – this white one goes perfectly in that unusual vase. Inshall look forward to seeing it again when it turns pink.

That is truly a beautiful vase. The white hydrangeas do it justice. They’re such a nice main-stay in the garden too.

So elegant! And what a chuckle, John – I’ve never thought of hydrangeas as ‘strong willed little devils’!

This is a right beauty, and both flower and vase beautifully captured.
