Crape Myrtles are blooming all over Charlotte now, and the landscape could not be more colorful. I have ten of these glorious summer trees growing in and around my small garden, so it seems only right to show them off in all their glory for In a Vase on Monday.
The darker lavender is ‘Purple Magic,’ the lighter is ‘Catawba.’ The light pink is ‘Osage,’ and the others were gifts that, alas, came without a name.

A Walk in the Garden 
A tree that needs the humidly that is a feature of your climate, mine hardly flower at all. I like seeing all the colours displayed in their separate little vases.

So pretty, and not something I see up here in Pennsylvania! Putting each in its own vase to highlight it was a great idea! I do have to say, the top picture made me think of one of those Lazy Susan things that spins around the middle of a table! I’d love to see a close up of the flowers some time!

Love the diverse colors you show. I don’t think I’ve seen all of these colors before. My folks had a house in AL and one crepe myrtle. It was dark pink. But my mom’s favorite color was that light ‘shell pink’ as she called it. I always think of her when I see these plants. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, we have those all over in Sacramento. I’d forgotten their name. I Call them fireworks trees 😉 We have low humidity here, but they seem to flourish.

I love how you kept them separate, it’s like a tray of specialty chocolates and you really focus on the range of colors. They must really light up the garden during the hot days of summer.
I planted a few in Texas but wasn’t there long enough to really enjoy them… I think I’ve killed at least three here in Pennsylvania. I can dream, right?
