We are just back from seeing my first granddaughter get married. It was special being with family and seeing the absolutely most beautiful bride of all (at least since my Arranger walked down the aisle). I returned to find my chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castus) starting to bloom for the second time this season. That it is an heirloom vitex from my Aunt Martha’s, and it is responding wonderfully to deadheading (just a few weeks ago). Heirloom plants and family weddings seem to go together to put something special in our lives.
I added a few blossoms of our annual mandevilla for color contrast.
They were placed in a Mason jar, pure and simple.
I am happy on this Labor Day holiday to join Cathy at Rambling in the Garden for her weekly meme.
