A Walk in the Garden 
I’m hate spiders, but how fascinating and beautiful. How big is it?

It is about 2 1/4 inches, tip to tip.

No, but I wondered if capturing lunch in them meant they were on the menu, or possibly resident snails!

She. She is striking. Only female spiders spin webs. Males drag a strand everywhere they go, but they don’t spin webs. (The first home-schooling unit I did with my son — then age 6 — was about spiders to help him overcome his fear of them.)

Oh, the SPIDERS are capturing lunch in the gardenias? I thought you said YOU were on a quest to do that when you found the spider. (That’s what you said! 🙂 )

Silly though it may seem, I originally read it in that light and only looked for the more logical meaning when I realised we weren’t exactly on the same wavelength!

I saw a large neon yellow color spider in Hawaii once nd my reaction was some fear and also some excitement at how beautiful it was. This reminds me of that spider experience!
