The theme of this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is PATH.
I built a number of paths in my previous garden in Chapel Hill. One of the roles for paths in a garden setting is that they can be used not only to move you from one place to another but to entice you to go there. Here are two paths that are among my favorites.
The spring blooms on the muscari draw your eyes along the path.
The pot alongside the curving path pulls your eye through the arbor covered with variegated weigela.

Enticing, indeed! What beautiful pathways. No wonder they’re missed. I hope you have a chance to make new paths!

Working on pathways is always a fun effort. Things always change along the way is trees grow, bulbs multiply, and things overgrow that need to be replaced.

Gorgeous. You are right, one cannot help but wonder what treasures are to be found round the next corner. I also love the use of colour and texture to “paint” the picture. You are truly an artist.

You are most kind, Hester. I would love to think I am an “artist” who had planned it all, but truthfully the areas in the photos all came about through serendipity.

I’d like to think that is what true art is – something that grows spontaneously from your inner and most private emotions.

Do it. Do it. One key is to remember that everything you plant will be close up.
