Time Flies: Three Years of Blogging

Today marks the third anniversary of A Walk in the Garden. Three years of blogging!

“Time flies when you’re having fun!”

That is an old saying that seems quite pertinent today. Three years, 473 posts, a host of kind followers from all over the world, and viewers from 128 countries. The numbers are unimportant; what is important to me is what I have learned from three years of sharing views across the blogosphere.

I have learned that people in all cultures love their gardens, love their children, love their families, love their food, love their countries, love their special places…just as I do.

I have learned that people around the world are articulate, artistic and creative. Having studied languages, I am amazed at how well people in so many nations can communicate in such beautiful English.

I have learned that, indeed, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” This may be my favorite.

Camellia japonica ‘Magnoliaeflora’

I have been humbled by the breadth of my followers and by the kind and encouraging comments received.

I have learned to “like” in a host of languages.

I sincerely appreciate those of you who have followed the development of A Walk in the Garden for these three years. I treasure the “blog-friends” that have become a delightful part of my life.

My hope is that A Walk in the Garden will continue to be something that readers will enjoy. I am looking forward to meeting you again in the blogosphere in the coming year.

Wow. This year’s supposed to be my 3rd, too. But, I paused and just got back yesterday. Never too late, eh? Hope to mark an anniversary of consistency in 2018. Kudos, John!
