When I took a walk in the garden on this cold Monday morning, I was surprised to discover that our candy tuft (Iberis sempervirens) is starting to bloom. That seems a bit early to me, but I will take all I can get at this time of year. How perfect that candy tuft would be available to go In a Vase on Monday. It makes a sweet contrast to the pansies.
The silver tray and cup were gifts to my Arranger on the occasion of her christening.
Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what she and others are sharing from the gardens this week.
Very dainty; it does seem very early.

I don’t think I’ve ever had it bloom so early. I just hope Mr Frost doesn’t come and damage it.

A sweet contrast indeed – and how lovely to have a surprise in the depth of winter. Congratulations on 3 years of blogging John – doesn’t it go quickly?

At my age, it seems to go by more quickly every year.

Thank you, Kris. We didn’t have a whole lot going on in the garden just now, so seeing the candy tuft was a blessing.

I wish you were correct. I’m afraid we still have a cold spell or two or more before we can say it’s spring. But thank you for wishing.
