John Viccellio retired after 24 years in the U. S. Navy and began to dig into gardening when he could finally land in one place. He completed the Master Gardener course in 1992 and has since designed and constructed two of his own gardens. He wrote a monthly garden column for ten years and was a regular contributor to Carolina Gardener magazine. John published his first book, Guess What's in My Garden!, in 2014. He lives in a retirement community in Matthews, NC.

      I agree Rahul – Johnvic8’s photos are as thoughtful as the wonderful floral arrangements. Is ‘in a vase for monday’ a personal challenge for your blog J.vic8? It’s beautiful looking through this category 🙂

        Thank you, Michelle, for your comment. It is a challenge to fill a vase every Monday, particularly during the winter months. In 2016 I made a New Year’s Resolution to post a vase every Monday of the year. i’m happy to say that it may the only resolution I’ve kept in my life. I haven’t been able to do that this year.

    I have never grown Lenten Roses. I’m about to go out and pick the tallest daffodil that has worked it’s way up in a sunny protected area and force it’s bud to bloom. I’m hungry for spring. Your flowers are lovely.
