Having a few tulips blossom out in the garden makes me happy! It only seems right to share some of them In a Vase on Monday.

‘Angelique’ tulips have come back in their second year and are blooming abundantly. We added the new blossoms of Ajuga reptans ‘Mahogany’ for contrast.

Those Angelique are lovely John. Do your tulips often re-bloom the next year? I’ve not had much success with tulips.

Angelique is the only one that has rebloomed for me year after year. This year I am getting second blooms on Menton.

Angelique is a favourite of mine although she rarely re-blooms with any success – these days I grow the her in pots and compost the bulbs when flowering is over as it is not worth the effort of planting them in the beds.

That happens with most of my tulips, but Angelique is different.

I used to grow Angelique in pots in front of my kitchen windows but they were a paler pink than your pictures seem to show – and like Julie I found it wasn’t worth trying to keep them for another season. Yours are gorgeous anyway – and how lovely to have (fairly) early tulips blooming (I know I have tulips too, but the species tulips are always earlier here) 🙂 Thanks for sharing

I have had pretty good luck growing Angeliques. They have multiplied and come back year after year in my previous garden. This is the second season for these. They start out almost white and then take on this pink color as they mature.
