In a Vase on Monday: Memorial Day 2017

Today is Memorial Day in the US, a day in which I give special thanks to family members and shipmates who gave their lives for the freedoms with which we are blessed. I have selected red, white and blue flowers to celebrate this day and their memory.

The flowers are Gardenia jasminoides ‘Jubilation,’ Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Endless Summer,’ and annual vinca.

Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what she and others have put in their vases this week.

It must be gardenia time. Some have popped up elsewhere. I think they are gorgeous especially since they don’t winter here. Beautiful tribute to the day.
