I woke up to a cool morning, hot coffee on the porch with the paper, and a feeling that fall is coming to North Carolina. I know there are still a few more weeks until fall officially arrives, but I am aware that the seasons are changing. A quick Walk in the Garden revealed several blossoms to include in a vase this day.
The hydrangeas are drifting into their fall colors, liriope is exploding all over the garden, white coneflowers and society garlic are putting out a second round of flowers, and the Encore azaleas are starting to give us their fall show.
Please visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden to see what she has in her vase this morning. Join her and so many others who share their treasures each Monday.
Our weather has become hot again but it is still clear that the end of summer approaches! The changing light says it all. It is always a pleasure when your reflowering Azaleas appear in your vases.

Thank you, Christina. I don’t know what I would do now without the rebloomers.

That is a nice vase of flowers. I never have green hands, most of the time, the plants turned out to be neglected.

I think summer is gone although barely here with heat….I love fading hydrangeas and must cut a few….those azaleas are so bright and perfect in the vase!

Cooler today also in Chapel Hill and the sense of fall is definitely evident. Your late season flowers are spectacular as always.

Just lost my first reply somehow! Was saying that the hydrangea formed a great basis for the vase with the other blooms for added colour

Thank you, Cathy. Hydrangeas are one of the true staples in my garden. It’s nice that they are blooming for such a long time. One of them…Endless Summer…is living up to its name and putting out a lot of new flower buds.

It does look autumnal, good to see the fresh azalea blooms though, they really keep the growing season alive!
