Weekly Photo Challenge: STRUCTURE

The theme of this week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is STRUCTURE.

Earlier this month I visited my daughter in San Diego. One lovely afternoon, she and I went for a short walk in her neighborhood. I spied this beautiful flower in bloom along the sidewalk and new I had to take a photo.

It is a member of the Hibiscus family. I don’t know an exact identification, but I was intrigued by the overlapping structure of its petals and the way the color blends from dark pink in the center to yellow on the edges.
