I remember a song from years ago that began with the words “Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly.” It made the rounds on the radio, and I never did understand the “dilly dilly” part. As I walked through my garden on this cool, rain soaked morning, I found my self humming that tune from long ago.
Could it be that I was seeing so much lavender in my garden this morning?
Let me share the various shades of lavender blue that had me humming:
This fall’s first pansies and reblooming hydrangea ‘Endless Summer,’ a bug eaten clematis ‘Ramona,’ and my heirloom chaste tree.
Society garlic has been in bloom continuously since spring.
I’m delighted that you joined me and hope you are humming along…”Lavender blue, dilly dilly”
