In a Vase on Monday: Old and New

After deadheading my heirloom chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castus), it has flourished with new growth and has put out a marvelous second bloom. The bumble bees are loving it here in November. Camellia sasanqua ‘Our Linda’ is showing its new blooms for the first time this fall. Why not include both of them in this week’s Monday Vase?

    Your ‘Heirloom chaste tree’ sounds as if it would have a story to tell; in the meantime, it sits silently but beautifully with the camellia to produce an elegant vase. Thank you to you and the arranger, as always.

    Why not indeed! The sasanquas are making a good show this fall. Your pink one pairs nicely with the Vitex.

    A lovely combination, John, and nice to see the chaste tree – I was wondering about adding one to the garden, because I think they tolerate drought rather well? The sasanqua is simply delicious.

    Woke up this morning to the temperature at the freezing mark. I am waiting for the last survivors in my garden to keel over. Thursday morning the forecast is for -10Celsius. That will be it. Thanks for your lovely vase.
