Not only are the hellebores back in full bloom in my garden, but yours truly is back to In a Vase on Monday after an extended absence. I beg the forgiveness of Cathy at Rambling in the Garden, the originator of this meme, but, of course, it’s easy to just blame it on our weather. Nonetheless, here are some of the hellebores from my lower garden.
There are three hellebore varieties growing at the edge of the woods, the names of which have long been lost in several moves. They do produce a lot of seedlings each year which I have spread around the garden. I’m still waiting to see the colors of these new babies.
Please visit Cathy and see her vase this week and those of so many who join her in sharing the garden’s bounty.
I didn’t know that flower. Beautiful!

I’m so enjoying everybody’s Hellebores, in vases and in gardens. It’s too hot and dry for them to flourish though I am seriously considering growing some in pots that can be kept in the shade in summer and kept moist. Welcome back John.

Thanks, Christina. Hellebores are truly wonderful plants, particularly when they bloom in winter.

No excuses needed John, but it is good to have you back. There is something especially appealing about these hellebores and the fresh green of their leaves, but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is – something about the colours, I think. Hmm, is there a sugared almond look about them, is that it? Very pretty, anyway

Lovely arrangement, as usual! Yours is the second post I’ve seen recently that speak of these hellebore seedlings. I must make a visit with mine to see if last year’s blooms left me with any gifts – if this rain ever decides to subside! So nice to see you’re back 🙂

Thank you, Elizabeth. I’m now getting a few blooms on what was just few years ago a seedling that I put it a pot for a few years and then planted in the garden. It does work, so I hope you will try it.
