The Most Beautiful Flower

I am happy to be back after a long absence from the blogoshpere. Having retired from gardening a few years ago and moving into a retirement community, I have to rely on memories of my gardens. Each week, I hope to share with you “The Most Beautiful Flower” in gardens of the past. Please enjoy.

Daylily Obsidian

The color and texture of daylily Obsidian is like royal velvet. I want to rub my finger on it…gently. It was a gift from a daylily gardener in Northern Virginia. What a gracious lady.

Hi John, it’s nice to hear from you and look at the flowers from your beautiful garden. I have pictures from your garden too. It was a treat to be invited to your home so we could all enjoy your garden. We are moving to a retirement home too and I am taking as many pots of shrubs and flowers as my porch can hold and still be able to sit down.
I will look forward to seeing the flowers you post.

Welcome back! I like the velvety petals and the rich colour. Plants are all the better for having memories of good people attached.
